Before the final finish goes in

Some floors need more than one step before the next finish can go in. We inspect what’s already there and prepare only what the surface actually needs.

Questions before preparing your floor?

Answers to common questions before booking your estimate.

Do I need surface preparation before installing a new floor?

Not always. It depends on the condition of the existing surface. Some floors need adhesive removal, grinding or leveling before the final finish goes in.

Can ABCA prepare the floor if another contractor installs the final finish?

Yes. We can prepare the concrete base so you, your contractor or the next trade can install over a cleaner and more reliable surface.

How do I know if I need self-leveling?

Self-leveling may be needed if the floor has low spots, uneven areas or needs a flatter surface before LVP, tile, epoxy or another finish.

What is the difference between grinding and self-leveling?

Grinding helps smooth rough or high spots. Self-leveling helps create a flatter surface when the floor has low or uneven areas.

Can you remove old flooring or adhesive?

Yes. We can remove old flooring materials and clear glue, mastic or leftover adhesive from the concrete before the next step.

What if my concrete is cracked or damaged?

Minor surface correction may be part of preparation. Larger cracks, broken areas or spalling may need concrete repair before the floor is prepared.
